As a wedding photographer, I've seen it all, so if you're a newly engaged couple, here's what I want you to know!

1. Slow down, take a breath, and be present.

Your wedding day is going to go by SO fast, so soak it all in! Take an extra moment before walking down the aisle, linger a little longer after your first dance, allow yourself to feel all of the emotions. These are the moments you're going to remember.

2. Not everything is going to go according to plan, and that's okay.

This is what you're going to laugh about one day. Let go of the idea of perfection. Your wedding day is going to be amazing, no matter what happens.

3. Take a moment for just the two of you, no distractions.

Whether it's the moment after you get married or during the reception, while your loved ones are dancing their hearts out, take a moment alone to celebrate your love. No photographer, no videographer, just you.

4. Just because it's on the timeline, doesn't mean it's set in stone.

Do what's going to make you happy. It's your day! If golden hour photos are scheduled, but you're having the time of your life on the dance floor, that's okay. Things can change, and plans can be altered. Never feel pressured to do anything your heart isn't set on, and don't feel bad about changing your mind.

5. Trust you vendors.

You chose them for a reason. You've developed a relationship and built a connection, and they're so excited to be there celebrating your love, while doing what they do best!
